Active ingredients- bisacodyl

Dulcolax belongs to the group of laxatives used specifically for treating constipation.

Dulcolax Dosage

Normally the drug should be used in empty stomach for quick effect. Avoid using Dulcolax with dairy products, antacids or milk, also make sure you don’t administer any antacids, dairy products or milk within an hour of using Dulcolax tabs.

Avoid overdose, consult a doctor in case you believe to have used more than the recommended dose.

· Inform your doctor if you are allergic to bisacodyl or any other active ingredients found in Dulcolax. Let your doctor know if you have suffered from allergic reaction to dulcolax or any other drug containing bisacodyl.

· Don’t useDulcolax simultaneously with any other laxatives, herbal supplements or drugs. Inform your doctor if you happen to use any OTC drug or other herbal supplements.

· Let your doctor know if you suffer from any chronic disease, GI disorders or for that any ailment for which you are using any herbal supplement or prescribed drug.

· In case of hepatic impairment, it is safe to consult your doctor prior to using Dulcolax.

· Consult your doctor first before using Dulcolax during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Evaluate the benefits and risk associated to the use of the drug and use only if the benefits are more than the risk involved.

· Avoid alcohol during therapy period.

In general no vulnerable adverse reactions have been reported with the use of Dulcolax, but patients may suffer from various side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other GI problems.

Contact your doctor in case you suffer any serious side effects on using Dulcolax.

In case of any allergic reactions, stop using the drug immediately and seek from emergency medical help.
